The Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations (A.F.A.O.) is the national federation for theHIV community response. We provide leadership, coordination and support to Australia's policy, advocacy and health promotion response to HIV. Internationally we contribute to the development of effective policy and programmatic responses to HIV/AIDS at the global level, particularly in the Asia Pacific.

Australian Transgender Support Association of Queensland (A.T.S.A.Q.)

The Australian Transgender Support Association of Queensland was formed in 1990 to help, advise and assist the transgender community in Queensland. It is run by transgenders for transgenders and provides emotional/moral support for transgender people, their families and friends. They also educate and try to dispel misunderstanding and combat discrimination and liaise with medical professionals and all forms of government to assist in better policy.

Carrousel Club of South Australia

The Carrousel Club of South Australia is a social and support group for transgender people in Adelaide. They provide emotional and social support for transgender people, their family and friends in a relaxed atmosphere. They also provide information and guidance, and share individual stories on transitioning and can help with contacting counsellors, medical professionals and other supports in South Australia. The Carrousel Club of South Australia create an environment where it is safe to express, examine, construct and develop your gender identity with people who are doing the very same thing.

Central Tablelands Transgender Information Service

The Central Tablelands Transgender Information Service provides information and support for anyone seeking medical or psychological assistance in changing gender. The Central Tablelands Transgender Information Service provides information on gender friendly services available in the Bathurst area of New South Wales and support and understanding for families and friends in a non-counselling atmosphere and operates 9:00am to 8:00pm Monday to Friday.

Chameleon Society of Victoria

The Chameleon Society of Victoria is not exclusive to the transgender community but welcomes all those who have a genuine interest including partners, friends and family, as are medical, legal, psychological and counselling practitioners. While the group does not meet on a regular basis it is there to provide support and information to those requiring assistance.

Freedom Centre (Western Australia)

Freedom Centre is a youth owned drop-in space for young people (under 26) who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer or questioning to drop-in, hang out, and meet new people who know where you're coming from and get support and info that's right for you! They provide information resources and if you can't find what you want to know, they'll do everything they can to get the info you need! Freedom Centre also runs workshops, retreats, activities and events and offers a range of individually tailored training sessions and presentations for professionals and workshops for groups and students. If you can't make it down to the Centre you can still stay in touch with the Freedom Centre team on tumblr or check out the forum and be part of the online community!
