Hi there! Lots to mention this month. There are activities to nurture creativity, serenity, assertiveness and community.

A new project for the Gender Centre starting this month are a series of art workshops. Check page 19 for our calendar of activities - come to everything or be selective, the choice is yours. Scheduled in blocks of three weeks, we start with book binding and the only cost are some basic materials and a $5.00 donation to cover refreshments.

Monday evening meditation is now available. Essential oils, inspirational music and affirmations beautifully presented by Lea - who could ask for more? Meditations start at 6:00pm sharp, so come a bit early.

The Lesbian and Gay Anti-Violence Project has offered a weekend workshop on self-defence for tranys on the 4th and 5th of November. This will be free and will deal with issues such as environmental awareness, verbal assertiveness skills and some easy to learn physical movements. Full details are contained in the advertisement on page 20. Please contact me if you are interested.

World AIDS Day is fast approaching. This year we will be having a lunch to kick off at 12:00 noon. We have also been invited to take part in red ribbon fund raising. Calling for volunteers ...

Wednesday morning drop-in at the Gender Centre between 10:00am and 12:00 noon continues. Everyone is welcome as always.

The first and third Tuesday night of each month is also drop-in time from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. We are currently re-evaluating how this time can be utilised, so I would really like to hear any ideas you have.
