Another year has passed at the Gender Centre.
Elizabeth is still motoring around and having a well earned rest.
There have been a few staff changes at the Centre in the last six months, I would like to thank Dan McKinley who recently resigned from
the centre and will be missed. We wish him the best of luck in his new job.
Four new staff members have joined the Gender Centre.
In Case Management we have Elizabeth Ceissman. Elizabeth works three days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We also have Carolina
Carvallo in the position of Residential Worker, also three days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The new Outreach Workers are Dash
Gray and Birdie. Dash is here two days a week, on Monday and Wednesday, and Birdie is here on Wednesday for Outreach.
Gaye Stubbs, our Counsellor, is now here an extra day, Thursday.
Maggie is the nurse from the Livingstone Road Health Clinic, and she has written articles for the last two issues of Polare. She will be
answering any health questions that you might have, so please send all such questions to Polare for referral to Maggie and she will answer
them in a new, regular column in Polare.
Over the last six-months we have formed strong partnerships with the Woman And Girls Emergency Centre; Marrickville Council; The Hon.
Penny Sharpe M.L.C. and the Livingstone Road Health Clinic. I would
also like to thank Rosemary LePage from the Department of Community Services and Craig Cooper from the Department of Health. I would also
like to thank the Gender Centre Management Committee for their support during the six months that I have been Acting General Manager.
The Gender Centre is about to embark on some major health research with the Livingstone Road Health Centre in 2007. This will be very
timely for the F.T.M. community and we need your support so please Watch This Space!
I would also like to wish all of the community and our service providers a very merry and safe Christmas and a Happy New Year.
