"Get Gorgeous for Summer"

Well perhaps Autumn anyway! South Sydney City Council have most generously offered to continue the fitness program for Transgender people. These aerobic classes are held at Woolloomooloo Gym, each Tuesday from 10:00am – 12:00pm, with a bus picking people up from the Gender Centre at 9:30am. The program begins on January 29th, and please don't complain that they've already started by the time you receive this edition of Polare. When an organization offers support like this, between Polare editions, you grab it and promote it like crazy at the Centre, and just promote things as usual through this magazine.

Hair Removal Workshop

Early March will see the first actual "workshop" of the year. I've organized a Hair Removal Workshop, with guest speakers Jessica Reid (Electrologist from Advanced Electrolysis Centre) and Grant Morrissey (Shaver Laser). The discussion will also cover waxing, tweezing, depilatory creams, epilating and shaving. Numbers will be limited for this event to be held on Saturday March 9th, 12:00pm - 4:00pm, so please call me to book your seat.

Family & Friends Afternoons

The Parents, Partners, Family & Friends afternoons are on again this year. Please tell your loved ones about this event! The next two events are Sunday February 3rd, and Sunday March 17th. Again, please call me if you'd like to attend. This event is not for Transgendered people.

Men's Group

The Men's Group will be starting again, beginning with a BBQ on Sunday February 24th at the Centre. If you're unable to attend, and would like to put forward some ideas for future Men's events, please contact me.

Future Events

I'm also hoping to begin regular discussion groups for Post-Operative Transsexuals, and also Young Transsexuals (under 25yo). As yet these two groups are to be organized, though, if you have any suggestions whatsoever, please contact me.

Mardi Gras Float

A Mardi Gras float is being organized by Sydney University, and they've invited Transgender people to participate. If anyone would like to, contact a Sexuality Officer at the Student Representative Council, Sydney University on 9660 5222.

Fair Day, BBQs & Drop-Ins

The Gender Centre is also participating in "Fair Day", part of the Mardi Gras Festival, at Victoria Park, Broadway on Sunday February 17th. Any helpers at our stall are welcome.

The Easter Barbecue will be held on Sunday March 24th, 12:00pm - 4:00pm at the Centre, and please remember that Drop-Ins are held on Wednesday evenings 6:00pm - 8:00pm and Friday 11:00am - 1:00pm.
