Over the weekend of the 12-14 March, fifteen of us went to the Minto Bush Camp. This is the second camp held so far and once again, it
was a popular and successful event.
The next workshop so far this year was the Young People's Workshop on Friday, 30 April. Six young people attended. Having this
opportunity of working with young people gave me lots of insight on how less oppressed they are as human beings. They really expressed
their feelings about the topics we discussed together.
I will be looking into a space to facilitate future workshops and support groups. It was so encouraging and exciting to see these young
people turn up and get together as they face their futures with hope.
The final event to report on was the recent Sexpo – Health, Sexuality and Lifestyle Expo from Thursday 22 to 25 April. Sexpo was a
fantastic experience for educational purposes. We handed out 200 Sexpo kits about Gender Qualities. During the time there, we handed out
four thousand condoms and many different types of lubricant.
We have many positive comments from the clients who accessed Sexpo. It was also really wonderful for us Workers here at the Centre to
have the chance to educate and network with other community based services.
